Not far from timberline there is a direct confrontation with the wonderful east face of massive
Mount James. To the immediate left is
Mount Stimson, and farthest left is Razoredge Mountain. To give a sense of size: it's 2300' from summit to the snowed-in basin about two-thirds of the way down, then another 1000' to the small, ice-free tarn at bottom. Photo by Vernon, July 25, 2008.
