We got lucky and the clouds lifted as we reached the summit! Beautiful area!!
Rare sunny day in Juneau. Saw all the peaks that I have climbed on earlier trips for the first time! Tried this climb from the Coral Princess the prior week sailing north, but retreated due to lack of crampons at 2,100' elevation. In one week the snow retreated enough to allow a successful summit!
Hiked this snowy mountain the day after bagging Deer Mountain in Ketchikan the day before. My best friend's son picked me up at the dock, drove me to the TH and probably wondered if he'd ever see me again. I somehow managed to get to the summit after losing the trail in the ever-deepening snow several times. When I showed up back at the doorstep of my driver he looked about as surprised as I had ever seen someone. So life is good. Lucky for me he drove me back to the port where I was able to re-board the ship before it launched for Skagway.
Fun hike in the rain with my sister. Have ran up this numerous times since.
Scott, Oyvind and I crashed up this one before flying home after the fantastic Mountain rescue conference last summer. Good times with great guys.
Mile and a half of bush wacking, then alpine setting. Easy couloir, desent snow, no ice, 60 degree max for 80 ft. Fun route for close to Juneau.
i was around 15 went I climbed it well its just a hike and yes its is always raining here but thats the price you pay for such a beautiful place
The trail takes relatively little time and the views from the top are hard to beat.
Spent three days on Jumbo... soaking wet the whole time.
