Mount Kinesava-- East Face Route

Mount Kinesava-- East Face Route

Seen from about where the approach ends and the real climb-- the remaining 1300' (of 3200') in about 0.7 mi-- begins. There's a lot of Class 3 and some Class 4 on the way to one of two notches that give access to the summit plateau and then the summit pyramid. Make an ascending traverse from left to right as seen here, and stay to the right of the towers seen in the middle here. Zion National Park, UT-- April 2011

Looks nice

With a good amount of detail here, I ought to visit places like this more.

Re: Looks nice

Thanks, Josh. Climbing in Zion is a beast of a different but pleasant nature, and I hope pictures like this can help people. Hopefully, I will have mountain and route pages for this peak up either tomorrow or Monday.

So...

...Zion is where you went on your April trip! I remember you making a comment about an April trip when you posted about your knee. Obviously both (the trip and the knee) worked out! Looking forward to your posts on this trip. I really do need to get back to Zion.

Re: So...

Hey Mark,

Yeah, we've been in Zion, Red Rocks, and Valley of Fire so far. Death Valley is next week. The knee turned out to be an MCL sprain and not a torn meniscus, which was great news. It still isn't healed fully, but it has held up under some tough work the past few days...good signs for the summer!

I hope all is well.
