HP # 43
Incredibly strong winds at the summit, maybe 70-75 mph. Enough to push me around and make it hard to stand but just a really great hike. No views that day but the Maples and Fall colors helped make up for it.

Mount Marcy Climb
Climbed this and made it to the summit with my best friend and climbing partner Chris and his sister Kimberly under perfect weather. I don't remember the exact date except that it was in October 2005. We lost all of our pictures. :-(

Long time coming..
Been trying to get to this for a few years.. finally had a chance to stop by on trip home from Canada. While the summit was socked-in as I headed up... I was lucky to find the low clouds had lifted by the time I got to the top! Was a bit cold & windy at the top.. but the views were great! Bagging Marcy (#37) leaves 13 peaks... all west of the Mississippi...

First hike in the Adirondacks
Parked at the Garden parking lot which was almost full at 6:40am on a Saturday. Paid $7 and left on on the John Brook's trail at 6:50. Got to the top by 10:00, stayed a half hour and got back to the Garden lot by 13:30. Had perfect weather.

Highpoint #23
Van Hoevenberg Trail with approx 8 am start time. We got very lucky with the weather - never got rained on despite the forecast. Very windy on top but beautiful views. Quite muddy and a lot of high water down low, snow conditions pretty favorable up high. Used microspikes and some postholing was unavoidable. Long day, 9.5 hours total.
Really frigid, 40 mph winds blowing over the top and encrusted in rime. Really gorgeous views but too cold to take my gloves off to work my camera. And now I've got 25 state HP's checked off, only 25 to go!

Cloudy Weather
Summited early in the morning, soaked to the bone from 10+ hours of rain only to find no view of anything. But the Summit Steward, Tyra was nice and quite informative (with Pocket Rocks & Big Bird)

Storm Rolling In
Mellow hike to Indian Falls, and then a winding cold path to the summit where it was quite windy and cold. Cairns were covered in ice, but still visible. Challenging hike for one day, about 16 miles round trip.
