Belford/Oxford Combo  Sucess!

Took a power nap on the top...would have made for a great overhead shot considering there were 5 people and 2 dogs napping on top as well. (You need it to conquer the return to Belford)

Belford Oxford Pecks  Sucess!

Finally found enough clothing to make the perpetually windy traverse from Belford to Oxford. Bagged Pecks Peak on the return - it's recommended if for no other reason than a peculiar view of Harvard popping up between the Belford/Oxford saddle.

Belford/Oxford from Missouri Gulch  Sucess!

Beautiful weather. The 2200 ft glissade down the northwest gully of Belford made my weekend. Perfect glissade snow.

after Belford, again  Sucess!

A repeat climb with my daughter, for her 3rd 14er. It became my 7th in September of 1976. Camped in Missouri Gulch at about timberline, climbed both peaks and packed out on the 2nd day. Great fun, but it had been too long since I had carried a full pack very far, and my shoulders complained!

With Belford  Sucess!

Bailed down gulch between peaks due to lightning, walk upstream to bridge in rain.

Belford and Oxford  Sucess!

Did Belford and Oxford in one day. A long hike, but the weather held and the views were spectacular. I suppose I'll have to revisit the valley to tackle Missouri later!

Missouri - Belford - Oxford  Sucess!

Did the standard route from Belford, and made it to Oxford summit in 48 mins. Weather was closing in, so we were going at a little bit faster clip than normal. Did all three in one day, not as bad as it was made out to be. Going back over Belford after a long day is a little challenging. Amazing views, and an amazing sunrise. (check the pics.)

Little did we know...  Sucess!

An absolutely beautiful summit. The picture of the Belford ridge behind you with the tiny trail winding along is sweet. Little did we know that this was one of our last moments of normalcy (went over to Mt. Waverly after since building clouds were not going to allow us to return over Belford/Oxford for Missouri)...Descent down Waverly gulch was, um, "great"! Isn't it fun when you can say you just created a route, totally blew up your knees (was that 4,000 ft of messy rock gully descent??? Yep.), got almost flash flooded, got hailed upon, fell in prickers (Charlie), cut up your hands and elbows (Nick), crossed a river and some beaver ponds, then walked a death march back to the car on the road for 2 miles for a total of almost 14 miles for the day??? Yeah...that's "good times"...as the DTMH would say...Only tolerable due to awesome hiking partners. Otherwise would have been almost broken by it.
