Route Climbed: Watrous Gulch Date Climbed: October 26, 2004  Sucess!

Good views of familiar peaks from this one. An icy wind up high so I didn't stay long. The first hike I've done from the Herman Gulch TH without seeing another person.

Trail was nice most of the way, although snow covered a large portion of the route to the saddle once I crossed the creek. Some postholing was encounted, but all in all the snow was solid to walk on. I reached the summit in 2.5 hours to cold and winds. I was surprised to see a summit cairn and log, which I signed. A bit cloudy the whole trip, but I beat the weather and had a good time!

This was my 3rd attempt at Parnassus and I am happy to say I summitted. First two times made it to the saddle between Woods and Parnassus only to find no visibility and horrific winds. Wind was present on this ascent but the skies were clear and sunny. Great mountain for aclimitization. Very steep tundra slopes also good for getting in shape.

Route Climbed: Watrous Gulch TH Date Climbed: June, 2000  Sucess!

This was a great spring training climb. We began at Watrous Gulch, took a right turn at the Bard Creek Trail, then bushwhacked up a ridge to the summit. We headed north toward Woods Mtn and down into Watrous Gulch, making it a neat loop hike.
