Beautiful late summer morning. Climbed from PCR 14, passed a moose and heard haunting bugling elk on the ascent. Gemini to Sherman and back down, 4 hrs RT, not a soul in sight.

Really really easy - combined with White Ridge
The easiest 14er yet and im not suprised since we started at the 4 Mile Creek trailhead. After I summited Sherman I droped down and did White Ridge and back to the car.

Scree and steep
Really noticed the scree and steepness on the way down from the Leadville side. Was trying to hurry up as the weather was turning fast. My 2nd 14er! Beat the weather and made it down safely.

2nd 14'er
This was a good acclimatization hike for Mt. Elbert. The trail was a little rough but we made it in under 2 hours. Bad skies approached rapidly so we hauled butt quickly. Very little time to celebrate.
First hike of our 2010 Christ Church Men's outing. First day above 700'msl had me huffing and puffing. But this was a good warm-up. Climbed from Leavick Mine on a beautiful but warm Saturday. Must have been 150 other hikers that day (plus dogs and babies)! Prettier hike than I expected.

My First 14er!
Climbed this with my family: hubby, son (age 2), and one in the womb. Met some awesome folks along the way. There was an American flag at the summit, in lieu of Independence Day! God blessed America, for sure! I then belly danced on this mountain with the (very chilly) pummeling winds. But never a cloud touched our sky, so we set the whole day just for play...

March to the Sea
After having been trapped in the South for a couple years, I took a really special liking to the idea of climbing this one :).
About 2.5 hours roundtrip from the gate on the Standard Route. This let me leave CO Springs at 6am and be back home by 3pm with stops for food. Awesome view west from the Sherman/Sheridan saddle to the Sawatch. Very cool mining buildings scattered along the lower part of the route made me appreciate the guys that built and inhabited these things.

Hiked the East Ridge from the Thompson Park Trailhead. This was a surprisingly beautiful hike. Lots of wind on the way up. Not much wind at the summit.

Solo with my new best friend
Met a nice guy, Tony, on the road and we climbed togather. It was about 3 1/2 hours car to car and we took time to smell the flowers. Sherman could be the easiest 14'er in the US.
