Evening jaunt  Sucess!

Got up to the top in time for sunset...the haystack is a fun little scramble, and I had it all to myself. Headed back down to the parking lot with the help of a headlamp. Fun hike.

Classic  Sucess!

I have climbed this peak 4 times. It is a perfect intermediate hike to prepare for things like St. Helens. The Haystack at the top is a perfect scramble, even if there is always about 10 people on it.

All the way  Sucess!

My first summer in Seattle I hiked this with friends at work. When they saw the Haystack, they said, "No, thanks." I then had to politely excuse myself and solo it.

Old Si Trail  Sucess!

A lovely hike, though a bit repetitive. Coming out of the tree line was a magnificent experience. Wonderful 1/4-1/2 day hike.

Watch out for snow, even in late spring. Bring a Jacket  Sucess!

It was a good climb, but I should have brought a jacket, the weather at the top can be unpredictable.

Here's a video of the climb

another one of my hacked and deleted summitlogs. With Steve Harrison in dry fluffy snow. Nice workout mountain but don't expect a solitary experience.

via Standard Trail

Couldn't climb the spire to reach the summit due to heavy snow on the rocks and cold temps. No visibility but short and sweet for Thanksgiving.

45-pound pack + new mountaineering boots, so it took much longer than expected.
