Sacred places

You mean Sami people are Laplanders or I'm mistaken ?
Have you ever met in person a Laplander ? Do they still profess animistic beliefs or they already assimilated to other Scandinavians ?

Cheers

Re: Sacred places

Sami people are no longer nomadic, but their culture is well maintained nowadays with financial help of states. They live across Lapland and northern areas of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia enjoying some special autonomy as ethnic group, you meet them everywhere. Reindeer husbandry remains the most common, traditional profession up there. Old beliefs? Only echoes of them, rather folklore and tourist attraction today.
