"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Untitled CommentSeems you had a real good trip. Good views of the Smokies despite some clould cover. I have heard about this mountain before but have never been there.

The cloud cover wasn't too bad when I first hit the summit. Later in the evening it got pretty thick and by about 3:00 am or so there was sleet and freezing rain. Temperatures went up pretty fast after about 8:00 am and it all melted.
It's a spectacular peak. I'm glad the views were still to be had when I got up there. If you do go, the trap door on the room at the top of the firetower has come loose and you can go up there, but I would definitely not recommend it. I took one look at that floor and retreated--very rotten. The Park Service apparently only uses that tower for some meteorological readings and they don't seem to care if the top rots away.

Untitled CommentWell-written page for a nice area. I liked those shots of the trail that climbs through the thick forest. Thanks for posting!
In the title of the route page, there's a "ridg" instead of "ridge." I don't know if the problem is truncation due to excessive length, or just a mere typo.

Yeah, I noticed that deal with the route name. Apparently the name system has its limitation. It won't accept the entire route name.
I'll fix the other typo you found.

Man, I really hate that guy. I kept waiting for him to zero-vote my pages. I finally wrote a letter of complaint to the elves concerning his zero-voting of hgrapid's posts for no good reason. They removed them (nice folk).

Untitled CommentGood page. I see there isn't any snow now in the Smokies, even in the winter?

Untitled CommentThanks! I'd been meaning to climb Sterling for years, but it was just another one that I kept putting off. Should have climbed it sooner. I'm glad I did it, but man my calves are aching today!

Untitled CommentNice job. I can't help comparing the green in the shots with my day yesterday: mostly wandering up and down a river - on top of about two feet of ice.
