Mt. Washington via Lion Head
Mt. Washington via Lion's Head. Celebratory birthday hike with friends and family, ages 13-50. Warm, clear day at the beginning of the hike, then encountered some rain about half way up, and blustery, cool, overcast conditions at the top. It's a steep, challenging stair stepper of a hike at times. Mostly rocky. Crowded in some sections, particularly at the top.

Lived up to its rep
We started up the Lion Head trail on a sunny summer day. By the time we reached the rock pile we were in the clouds with a cold drizzle. We could hardly see the cairns but knew if we kept going up we should get there. A bowl of hot corn chowder on top was just what we needed. Seems like only 50 years have passed since then.

HP #3!
Moderately challenging for a day hike, but a good workout. One of my favorite day hikes, actually. First half is forested, but then the second half out of treelike is all scrambling.
Very very windy at the top!

Very fun solo hike up the famous Mt Washington. The weather was unreal...warm, bluebird, no wind. Up Tuckermans Ravine in "record time" (could have gone faster if I didn't run into a couple slow people along the ledges), chilled on top and observed the tourist zoo, then down Crawford, tagged Monroe, and down Boott Spur. 5 hours 15 mins car to car from Pinkham Notch.

A nice peak with nice views
Done this a few times on visits to the East Coast. It’s a fun hike and there are plenty of folks so if loneliness is is a problem for you have no fear. I hope to get a chance to visit in the winter and find a fun route to snowshoe it. NH is magical by the way.
Took the winters route/Tuckerman's Ravine Trail. Even though there were wind gusts up to 80mph that day, mother nature calmed down in time for us to summit. We even had some sunshine. What a great way to summit and see the Observatory! We saw an avalanche but no one was fatally injured. Make sure to always check the danger of the day.

Top of New England
An important peak for me given my more than 20-year pursuits of both US State Highpoints and the New England Hundred Highest.
First summited as a 25-year-old via the Edmands and Crawford Paths on a near perfect summer day and repeated this same hike many years down the road in 2016. In between, I passed over the summit of Mount Washington in September 2005 while completing a one-day Presidential traverse. Notably, the Presi traverse was completed during the annual Highpointers Convention with a fellow future 50-state completer.

Wet and Foggy on Tuckerman's
Continuous rain for the whole day. The trail could most aptly be described as a stream. Lots of waterfalls coming over the bowl. I could have gotten some great shots, but it was too wet to take my camera out. The temps were not bad, or otherwise it could have been a very cold day on the mountain. Only saw 4 other groups. Two of them turned back due to the condition of the trails. The summit was a bit anticlimactic as all the buildings were closed and visibility was about 30 feet.
Up Tuckerman's Ravine in 2.5 hours. A bit humid for most of it. The steepness was more than expected leading to some traffic jams. The weather was great above treeline line. The Lion's Head Trail meandered a significant amount. Did the trip solo and met friends at Jackson Falls after. A wonderful day!
