in addition to the register in the summit cairn, I found a shrine with a cross made of welded-together horseshoes. Like the other peaks, I encountered no one else!
Made a lovely lollipop loop to all 3 mountains with hubby. Gorgeous day and wildflowers! Could not get the summit register open on any of these peaks, apparently getting wimpy in old age.
CCR LLC climbing expedition summited in a light drizzle, first the false summit and then the real one. Found the summit register in a tiny babyfood jar in a rock cairn. Good views and lots of wildlife, found a mountain lions den (nobody home!). Descended the saddle between Welba and the false summit. No one there but us!

Welba
June 23 2018
Justin and I headed for Mount Welba in the Elkheads. It was a nice hike and a deer and elk watched me on the summit while Justin was taking pictures.
July 9 2016
Kessler, Shaylee, and I climbed Mount Welba in the afternoon and evening. There were still snowbanks around and lots of mosquitoes! I should have brought a map along since it took us a little time to find the summit. We saw one really big vulture near the summit and one big buck as well.

Shaylee, Kessler, Kimberly and I climbed Mount Welba. It was a good climb and the mosquitoes have thinned out. Because Kim had to be to work at 4 PM and because we didn't get that early of a start, it was a pretty rushed climb. We didn't find the summit register on the big summit rolling summit this time, but if we had more time we probably could have located it.

Nice climb, but I got very wet because there was more snow in the trees than I expected.
