Mountain garlic

Mountain garlic

Mountain garlic (Allium montanum, syn Allium senescens L. subsp. montanum) is common flower of mountains in SW Pannonian basin, often found at lower altitudes, as it is case here with Mt. Strahincica at 600m Blooming early summer through mid fall, its handsome clusters with rounded small purple flower heads are very popular with butterflies (the one in the pic above is European Peacock).

What colors

This is an amazing butterfly picture. I've never seen one with such coloration, just absolutely beautiful.

Re: What colors

Thank you.
Picture is about flora, but
butterfly was reluctant to move away (8-)

Some say it was peacock that did inspired Kandinsky for this painting

Hard to tell whether Kandinsky ever had an opportunity to see it in the real world, though...
