It is less humpy looking than some of the other big ones.

Good page - what kind of rock is this? As far as I can tell from the old shots it might be limestone or even something volcanic.

Quartzite. The rock is actually very hard, but it is also very fractured because the mountains here are so old. They have been frost fractured over millions of years to the point that the rock is too fractured to do technical climbing on. In (rare) places where the rock is actually not fractured, the rock is very solid and hard and good for rock climbing.

Quotes

Just wondering why the name is in quotes?

"Henrys Fork Peak"

instead of Henrys Fork Peak

Re: Quotes

It's an unofficial name, often used by climbers. The peak is officially un-named according to the USGS.

Quotations in guidebooks or on peak list usually denote an unofficial name.

Re: Quotes

Makes sense, but for search purposes it would be nice if the quotes were removed.

Re: Quotes

Quotes won't affect the search unless they are in the search title of the page. I always take quotes out of the search title (if you don't the page won't show up in alphabetical order).

Are you having problems searching for the page? If so, it isn't the quotes causing it, but I can check into it.

Quotes are almost universally used for most peak list, regardless of source.

Re: Quotes

I see the quotation marks have been removed from the mountain name. Nice!
