Mountaineers Route

Mountaineers Route

Looking up at the crux pitch (P6) of the Mountaineers Route from the semi-hanging belay. According to our hand-drawn topo, the route takes the vertical finger crack (c. 15 feet) just right of center to reach the wide crack system on the right side of the roof. The rating on the topo is 5.8-5.9 for the initial finger crack. It's probably not that bad though it IS the crux of the route (the rest of the ratings were probably on the soft side?). After reading some TR's on this climb (see links), I'm wondering if others do the crack in the roof followed by thin crack up the roof's right side (July 4, 2004).

Looks like a great climb!

Nice job. Some really nice granite in these images. Makes me want to get my but down there. Thanks for posting this peak.

Are you going to do a trip report and / or summit log?

Cheers,

Martin

Re: Looks like a great climb!

Thanks Martin!

It really is a GREAT area! You'll enjoy yourself when you go there. Beautiful climbing (not just this route but so many others).

Will sign the summitlog. All in all it was a mellow weekend - a TR probably would not make for interesting reading.

Re: Looks like a great climb!

You should reorganize the photos so you can see more of them on the main route page. Most of them do not show.

That would make a great page even better!
