Photographer Lee Mann ascends...

Photographer Lee Mann ascends the last of the Cache Glacier to Cache Col. (The glacier used to be so free of hazards on the route that we never roped up for it. Don't take it for granted now.) We're headed for a camp at Kool-Aid Lake after climbing Mix-up Peak, the peak at the left side of the photo.

That light-colored upper face is the standard route on Mix-up. It's exposed, but suprisingly easy, requiring a belay for only the final 60 feet or so.

Across the valley, Mount Torment breaks the skyline directly above Lee, then Forbidden Peak, then Sahale Mountain on the right, with Sahale Arm snaking down toward Cascade Pass. Doubtful Lake is barely visible in the crook of Sahale Arm.

Lee...

I haven't talked to Lee for years; is he still living above SW?

Nice job so far on the pages and tables.

Re: Lee...

Yeah, I believe so. Thanks. I have the photos scanned for Stage 2, and haven't seen anyone step up to do that yet, so I'll start on that, maybe tomorrow.
