August 2006. On day 2, Cyril hurt his knee and got airlifted minutes before the weather turned nasty. Rope team of 4 became 3.

No epic story here! an old knee injury reappeared and my friend called to enquire about rescue procedure in case he would not be able to climb any higher - his knee started hurting more and more. The rescuers told him that he had 15 min to make up his mind because after that the visibility would be too poor for the helicopter so he asked for a lift!
The helicopter was there 3 minutes later and gone 2 minutes after that...we barely had time to formulate a back up plan...Fortunately we could communicate via cell phone afterwards.

...for being safe! Too many people forget that the summit is optional, making it off the mountain safely is mandatory! Hope the knee gets better soon!
