It's sad to see....

...entire forests burned, although it's an important part of nature to keep forests healthy in the long run.

Sloan Ridge fire

On top of Mt. Ireland is one of the last active USFS fire lookouts. In the foreground is part of the 10,000-acre Sloan Ridge Fire of about 12 years ago. The fire is the result of a controlled burn that got out of control when strong winds too charge. An investigation determined that errors were made evaluating weather conditions.
