"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Day hike from Red Lake TrailheadThis turned out to be probably the most painful hike ever. Lack of acclimatization had a lot to do with the pain. Almost 13 hours car to car. The headaches started once I made it back to Red Lake from Prater. Thank God I did no go up to Tinemaha, as I initially planned. The hike from Red Lake to car was a downhill three hours complete misery. And Prater, might not be a technically difficult hike, but the whole affair was a Sisyphus torment. I always say I'll never drive back to Red Lake Trailhead and yet, I drove there 6 times.

From Upper BasinFrom our basecamp near the Kings River, we slogged up from the west to the Split-Prater saddle. Easy slow walk to the summit for views of the next rain storm.

Dayhike from Red LakeNice view, long slog, especially with absolutely no snow above Red Lake. The little catwalk was cool. I originally intended to knock out Tinemaha and Bolton Brown, but had no energy.

From Red Lake via N SlopesWith a large group of 7. Excellent conditions. Favorite part was the snow climb before reaching Prater-Split saddle. First hiked Split and then Prater.
