Pk. 4245Believe it or not Pk. 4245 (13,927 ft.) is visible from the Mt. Gleason area in SoCal's Angeles Nat'l Forest. It is interesting that this peak is un-named.

Re: Pk. 4245It's now somewhat known as Mt Morgenson even though the BGN has rejected that name. I'm surprised that you can see it as it's 150 miles away and is at least partially (if not completely) obscured by Mt Whitney's massive west face and several other 13k' peaks in the Rock Creek area. My memory of Gleason is really fuzzy but I thought there were a lot of trees on the summit

GleasonYeah there are lots of trees (less now due to the Station Fire, I'm sure), but the mountain areas west of Russell can be seen. I remember on my wedding day 11-27-1987, on San Gabriel Peak, I was able to clearly see Langley and Whitney over Mill Creek Saddle! ... As well as waves breaking on Huntington Beach 180 degrees to the south! From Gleason we could see Langley, Corcoran, LeConte and Mallory clearly as well as the 13,900+ peak west of Russell. Of course, binoculars were necessary for the identification. By the way , I love your shot... I'd like to have stood there and admired that sight in person! Thanks!
