Mt Shasta Re-Created Weather Report

March 24, 2010 - This is, to the best of my recollection and notes, what the last weather forecast was that I saw when I left the office Thursday afternoon for Mt. Shasta. We based our decisions off of what Tom and I remembered from this forecast combined with what we observed on the mountain. We had expected some clouds and perhaps some precipitation on the approach as a storm was winding down that week, leaving fresh snow. We were surprised to find very clear skies, though plenty high winds on the mountain until that evening. Our biggest concern was the slight chance of precipitation moving in Monday, but it appeared to be a low POP of a negligible amount, and nowhere were the winds listed as being unusually high. At the time of the Thursday afternoon forecast, there was also no weather advisory for the mountain.
