Sorting gear, getting ready to climb the rock buttress to our left, called the Dogs Head, en route to the summit. This image is from August 1977 and shows the spectacular Forsyth Glacier. Everything in this picture (except the climbers) vaporized and disappeared in the eruption of 1980.
