The Sierra Nevada is one mountain range, John Muir's Range of Light.

Re: SIERRA!Yes, yes, you're right of course, but I give you as my defense the entry in Wikipedia that acknowledges the informal (even if incorrect) use of the term "Sierras" as a casual form for the "Snowy Range" in question (so named by Cabrillo). You used one nickname, I used another. :-) Thanks for the comment, though!
