My front yard during the summer of 2005

I took this picture one morning during my daily clean up of the Conrad Kain Hut. It was well into the season before I got over the novelty that this is where I lived and worked. How many people get a chance to look out their front window and see a glacier? It was also fascinating for myself to spend an entire season in one location in the mountains. To see the melting of the snow, the seasons for each flower, and then the arrival of the fall with its solitude. The people left and the ptarmigans became the inhabitants of Applebee campground.
