Re: ancient

Camalots??? hahaha,
We're talking about long before any camming devices, much less Camalots.
Thos hexes are the first generation made by Chouinard Equipment that eventually became Black Diamond. I am ancient my friend.

Re: Nice!

I used what's known as "Yosemite Hammer."
It has a wooden handle and a burly head. But, stupid me, for reasons I cannot remember, I cut off its strap.

Re: Nice!

I seriously doubt those hammers are still in production, but I can't be totally sure.

Great Collection

Marc - That's an impressive set of iron, almost better than a trip to Neptune's Mountaineering in Boulder, Colorado - that place is half climbing store, half climbing museum.

Re: Great Collection

May be I should send them some of my oldest soft Iron pitons that are all bent and rusty. I wonder if I still have them, or where they are!

Very Unusual

It's great to see a classic collection like this one. It's the only photograph I have seen of this kind.

Re: Very Unusual

I had forgotten that I had this photo till about a week ago. I thought people might get a kick out of seeing it.
Thanks for the visit, Adam,
cheers, Marc
