Beautiful!

Nice photos...what would you say is the best month for going through the narrows?

Re: Beautiful!

I think July and September are supposed to be the best because of a combination of dry weather and warm temperatures and lower water levels. August, I understand, carries a higher risk of storms causing flash floods.

Hiking

You should add Old Rag to that list, it is right next to White Oak Canyon and a fun hike during the off-season.

Great report!!

Re: Hiking

During the winter with snow and ice present, it is indeed a great outing.

Losing hiking partners

Ha!
Me, after taking a friend up University Peak in a thunderstorm: "Next time... wait, maybe you don't want to go hiking with me again..."
Hiking (ex)buddy: "You figured that out, huh?"

Seriously, the Narrows is a very fun hike! Better the younger you are, though. When you're young, the falling is a lot more fun.

Re: Losing hiking partners

When you're older, falling creates an excuse to stop and rest. :)
