Strunga Dracului was very interesting :)
Didn't manage to summit as the trail was covered in snow, and was too steep. We were also a little disoriented because fog reduced visibility to about 15 meters.
I used to live in Romania until the age of 25 so Carpathian mountains were pretty much the cheapest option for me. Splendid view from Negoiu peak, second highest mountain in Romania. The best way to go is via Balea lake. Either camp there or just book a room at the Balea hotel.
Nice. +mountains Moldoveanu, Šerbota and Laitel
Passed the peak on a 5 days trip through the Fagaras
Did the hike along the crest of the Fagaras Mountains in 2010 and in 2011. Love the Custura Saratii and Strunga Dracului sections. However, Negoiu Mountain must not like me because both times the clouds swallowed up the view right as I summited! Nevertheless, I love these mountains!
as walking over Fagaras mountains.. Nice route via Struga Dracului!
From Negoiu hut...At the top the clouds gone for a while to can have a view around.

I climb Negoiu several time on every year. If you want more information,visite my Negoiu Page.
Climbed via normal main ridge. Coming from Sambata, going to Turnu Rosu.
Later (Aug 12, 2005) I climbed it again as part of a Fogaras main ridge trekking (Baraka).

Strunga Dracului->Negoiu->Strunga Doamnei
during the walking over Fagaras mountains
My favourite mountain in the world...
Wonderful peak and interesting ,quite demanding route (high mountain tourism) ,in bad weather conditions it would be not so easy ...especially with huge rucksacks on your backs ...
Great descent to Caltun Lake (shelter) through famous Strunga Dracului (Dracula's Gully) ,it really rocks !
We climbed Negoiu as part of crossing whole Fagaras from west to the east , but i liked this part probably the most because of great weather we had and great views
Climbed again : 16 August 2003 - this time fog and rain
