Nevado Hualca Hualca (6025m) from near Cabanaconde

This massive mountain towers over the south of Colca Canyon. It's the second highest in the area, after Nevado Ampato. The evening before, I heard that a couple of mountaineers were going to climb it with a local guide. I wished I could have gone there too, but alas, I wasn't properly acclimatized yet to tackle a 6000-er. And so, I hiked the canyon instead and enjoyed the views. 8 May 2011.
