No discussion of Cirque of the Towers would be complete without mentioning the wildflowers. From Columbine (shown here, on the approach to the South Buttress of Pingora) to Polemonium growing in the crevices of the highest peaks, to the ubiquitous Giant Paintbrush, to the bizarre Elephant's Heads at Lonesome Lake, the profusion of wildflowers in this area will excite even the most jaded botanist.
