Great routeDid this on a rest day after wiessmis and laginhorn. Walked up from Saas Grund straight up the spine from the road and followed the excellent rocky ridge to the summit. It is like crib goch on Snowdon only much longer with quite a few exposed bits along the way but firm handholds, so fine providing you keep a clear head. Saw a few Ibex on the ridge, amazing.
Did make a poor choice on the return by turning left at the summit to descend a steep rocky slope with very loose rocks. I dislodged a lot on my way down and so would have been very dangerous if I had been with other people above or below. A cracking mountain, with the long summit arret scramble making it a memorable day out.
