North Face Mt Borah

The North Face of Mt Borah in 1990. It had been a couple of years since we last visited the cirque and were quite surprised to find that most of the ice had melted off the face. The small glacier that once existed at the bottom of the mountain was totally gone. Throughout the 70s and 80s the ice started at the top of the moraine and covered the entire face. To date, the ice cover has never come back to the extent that did in the earlier decades. Sept, 1990 (photo by Curt Olson)
