Soon after leaving the saddle between 11887' and
Standhope Peak you encounter one of the early cruxes of the climb. This 30 foot high section up through granite blocks and slabs is one of the more technically challenging portions of the Class 3+ north ridge. If you aren’t comfortable with this section, it would probably be best to turn around and climb Standhope instead.
