Welcome to the North

But be forewarned: it's addicting. Spend more time there and you'll see why. Montana and Wyoming, from Yellowstone Country roughly following the Divide up to Glacier, have a feel that nowhere else in the Lower 48 does.

If you go back to the Winds, head into the central section, which is more rugged than the southern, or into the northern where the big Glaciers are. Then you'll really be ruined!

Re: Welcome to the North

thanks! i love it...the northern Rockies were my focus this past summer, hopefully will be again this coming summer. definitely need to get some of the big peaks in the Winds too...all more complex ascents though.

i bet Sheep Point would be right up your alley...feels pretty remote and some fun scrambling if you go up from the north

So little snow in the Winds...

For June! There was much more snow in the Beartooths in mid-July last year...but they are slightly further north.

I gotta get back to the Winds...thanks for posting
