Nuptse in evening alpenglow from Gorak Shep

The lighting gets real nice in the late afternoon in the Himalayas but many times clouds obscure the view. The clouds opened up on this afternoon revealing an unforgettable view of the summit of Nuptse (7861 M, 25,790') on May 13, 2008.

Nuptse

Nuptse doesn't seem--in my view--to receive the attention it deserves. I guess with Lhotse, Makalu, and Everest right near it, Nuptse gets a little less "press". That's unfortunate, because at over 25,000 ft., the mountain deserves better; anywhere else in the Himalayas, it probably would be paid more attention.

Re: Nuptse

Yes I think you're right. It's a beautiful peak that has seen relatively few expeditions compared to Everest.
