captain Heredia climbed Taillon (and a number of other peaks in the Pyrenees) during the so-called Great Geodesical Survey of the Pyrenees, undertaken by french and spanish teams in the late 18th century. Its target was to obtain a final design of the common border.
The refuge at Sarradets was being rebuilt when I passed through in September 2018. This forces a short detour over a rocky knob to the right of the building site. From the looks of things, this will continue through 2019. No services were available, but there was a source with drinking water.
