Sonnenspitze
Hiked from the cable car up to seebensee, there was a yellow sign indicating the trail up the the peak but no clear track. I went off my offline gps and ended up finding the track, although on the way down we could manage to see a slight resemblance of a track as we were looking down. One of my favourite walks with awesome views of the 2 lakes. You can walk down to the hut although some people said that Ferrara gear would be necessary. We headed black the way we came, can be quite steep

After the mountain has been mentioned in the German Alpenvereins magazine "Panorama" as a nice grade II ascent, it seems to attract many visitors now. There were 5 groups going up on a wednesday in october.
The path is now very well marked.
I did the north - south traverse, a very interesting traverse of this bold summit, towering high above Ehrwald.
Third time that I climbed this beautiful summit.

on the afternoon after climbing Seebener ferrata. It began to rain during descent. Not so funny.

Route Climbed: South-North Traverse from Coburger hut Date Climbed: Sept. 29, 2001My second ascent after 1991. This time the descent was pretty hairy due to fresh fallen snow.

Route Climbed: south - north traverse Date Climbed: 07/17/1999First we did the Seebener Klettersteig (via ferrata) to get to Seebensee and continued to Coburger Hütte.
The ascent of the Ehrwalder Sonnenspitze was the highpoint of this beautiful day. My picture of the Zugspitze and the
whole western part of the Wetterstein range was taken from there (see Zugspitze page)
