'Climbing Guide to Oregon', saw this, took out looking for it. Hiked in from down below cross country - really steep getting up to the spire. Got to the shoulder, up to the first bench, then we went around to the right under an overhang (not on route photo) and then straight up to the second belay, then the final pitch to the top. Took three attempts to get around the overhang.
Logged in, enjoyed the view, late in the day (late start), very few entries at that point. We followed our route back down and instead of rappelling to the shoulder (hindsight the correct descent) we ended up following our ascent route. Got really tough getting around the overhang, and by then was getting late and dark. Was pitch black when we got back to the ground, hiked up the ridge, found the trail by flashlight and hiked back down the ridge to the vehicle. Almost ended up spending the night on it.
