Starting in 2012, the Currahee Military Museum is putting on an annual D-Day Race (Likely the Saturday closest to June 6th) up the forest road to the Summit "Plateau." In Preparation for the D-Day invasion, the 101st Airborne Trained at nearby Camp Toccoa and ran the "three miles up, three miles down" forest road at Currahee.
