This valley is very lightly traveled, and us93 is currently a pleasant 2-lane road. But while there are no plans to improve the road, there is a fantastic plan to build a bedroom community for Las Vegas just north of the Arrow Canyon Range, in the non-descript desert area known as Coyote Springs. The developers don't have anything but bulldozed roads, but that hasn't stopped the creation of a Utopian web page:

Estimates vary, but some plans call for as many as 80,000 new homes and 10 golf courses. Scandal erupted in 2001, involving a top NV politician, but hardly acted as a speedbump. The groundwork for the commmunity continues. The developer touts a 50-minute commute time to Vegas, which might be possible if us93 gets replaced with a 6-lane highway or bullet train.

Thank God that Coyote Springs is derelict (for now), but the 7,100-acre "Gemini" solar development between Valley of Fire and I-15 has just been approved. What a shame.
