Ha! Pictures are coming up onto the page! I love your moody picture captions about Don and Ardith. Must have been a perfect outing, sandwiches, elk poop, fog, Burger King and the combatants in the neutral corners of the summit.
Until they build a bridge across that damn Columbia River I just don't see myself doing much in Washington..............what, I've just been informed that there is a bridge that crosses the Columbia. Huh, what next, moon landings?
Look for more guest apearences in the Evergreen State this year.
You mean they will let you out of Roseburg on occasion? I thought you could only have supervised visitations down there on Sundays between 4 and 6 at the penitentiary??
Excellent page, Brian - This area is not nearly as remote as most people might think and I have to admit it's the best and largest old growth area I've seen. Thanks for your work putting up the page and thanks for a great outing!
I actually thought it was similar to Dog in that there are many multiple options to do it or make loop hikes of. I would suggest to go when it's sunny to see the views of the big volcanoes around you.
I was very glad to see this hike included here. I did this with my sister years ago, and it was such a great hike for solitude, I don't think we saw anyone else the whole day. The views were wonderful also. Another great hike for solitude and steepness is just a bit farther up the road from this one, the Paradise Ridge trail. From the top of this ridge you could look in all directions and see no sign of man at all, also no other hikers on the trail all day.

Untitled CommentLooks like a cool hike. Good work on the page. That is an area I am looking to spending more time in. I enjoyed Dog Mt. last week.
