2012 update: A new trail has been added, called the "Chestnut Oak Trail." It leaves the "Occoneechee Mountain Loop Trail" about half a mile west of the parking lot (just west of the summit) and contours around the mountain at about the 750-foot level, coming into the "Summit Trail" just west of the junction with the "Overlook Trail."
