Olympus Trail, upper portion.

This photo was taken near the summit of Mt. Olympus looking down and south. Much of the upper portion of the route the Olympus trail follows on the higher part of the mountain is seen. For those out there who might be unfamiliar with the route, it enters the forested area at the mid right of the image, continues up the the mountain through the trees to the saddle at the left. The trail can be seen near the saddle in this photo at higher resolution. From the saddle the trail turns north and into the gulley seen at the bottom left of this image. A fun class III scramble from the saddle always makes the hike! 12-10-2011.
