Description

From Backcountry.com:
"Leave the city commotion behind you and head into the backcountry with the Mountain Hardwear Men's Escape Jacket. Gore-Tex Performance Shell blocks out snow and water whether you ski, climb ice, or opt for an alpine ascent. Mountain Hardwear peppered this waterproof jacket with features that will see you through a storm. When you make turns down a big mountain face, a rollaway hood with a beefy laminated brim shields your head from wind and snow. The jacket's mesh lining wicks moisture, and when you skin back up to the top, extra-long Underarm zips let you exhaust some heat. The Escape Jacket's inner water bottle helps you stay hydrated on your alpine quests, and zippered pockets ensure you won't leave your car keys somewhere on the glacier."

My Review
This jacket is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Quality, durability, and performance describe this jacket. I have used it as a alpine shell, back country snowboarding, ice climbing, climbing, mountain biking, and as my backpacking rain shell.

The pit zips are fantastic and make it so that it breathes exceptionally when using it in warmer weather. The fleece line pockets are great in winter. This is 100% waterproof. I have never had a problem.

This jacket is tough as nails. i have put it through hell and it has come out without any kind of abrasion whatsoever. it has an athletic fit, but still leaves room to layer fleece and under-armour during cold expeditions.

This will most likely end up being the only shell you use. It is worth sacrificing a couple ounces for the sheer performance when backpacking, and it is my most important piece of gear when in the snow.

Props to Mountain Hardware, I'll have a hard time buying anything else.
