Feel great, wear out quick!
I loved these when I bought them in May of 2007, I destroyed them on the AT yesterday (August 2007). First off the fit and traction are fantastic, no complaints. I did abuse them a bit with many nasty hikes but 3 months is ridiculous. Granted that I use an orthotic which eats at the side of almost anything I own but the holes punched through the suede that now fits my thumb as of yesterday is unacceptable. I buy hi-tec because it fits my high volume foot. When they became wet I noticed the paper that sits under the removable insert which disintegrated after the first soaking. Then came a reinforcing steel leaf spring in the center that snapped on one of the 2. Finally the stitching in the side went a little after a month in but I blame that on the orthotic. The holes began early this month. I'd love to buy another pair because they feel so good and the bottom is so sticky on the rocks and the price is reasonable but I expect at least 6 months life. Don't buy them if you punish them regularly.
