Oval Peak as seen from...

Oval Peak as seen from Courtney Peak to the southwest on July 27, 2002. In the foreground is Buttermilk Ridge (Pt. 8267). One can traverse from Fish Creek Pass to Oval along this ridge after going over Courtney Peak. The traverse is mostly on talus though the point at the corner where the ridge turns north to finish on the South Ridge of Oval is cliffy on its northwest and northeast sides. One has to descend eastward on this point until a safe way over to Oval can be located. The lake at lower left is East Oval Lake.
