south approach
South approach. did the same with a 4WD (Jimny as well) up to 2000m (end of the unpaved road). really nice landscape and view.
easy hike under good conditions, probably a bit tricky with fog and bad weather. The way is indeed a bit difficult to find at the beggining, the path being just above the road on the right when arriving, but it's better to start walking at the end of the road.
Approaching with a 4WD is stronly advised.

From the south
Had only 1 day for it so drove in a rented Suzuki Jimny from Hersonissos (north coast) to Hora Sfakion and Anopoli, then up the rough gravel road as far as it goes (up to ~2050 m) and hiked to the top via Rousies col. Fog all the way, zero visibility.
