Painted Canyon and Juniper Forest
This area is nearly at the head of Painted Canyon in the upper reaches of Paddock Creek, a good (unofficial) wilderness experience in Theodore Roosevelt NP.
This is typical of much of the park's scenery -- badlands, but with a little more grass and a lot more juniper forests than in Badlands NP to the south. TRNP seems to get more rainfall, but be advised that none of the water is potable.
