East Ridge. Yes, it is the view from the East, and the sunlit face of the peak faces North. The picture is taken at approximately 2 am, just after we ascended the rocky escarpment of Fersman Pass. The technical rock-climbing routes to Palgasvuychorr follow the butresses of its 2,000 ft-hight North Face. July 1986
