Pangbuk Ri (6625m)

Pangbuk Ri (6625m) – East Face Pangbuk Ri (also spelled Pangbug Ri) is located on the border between Nepal and Tibet, 6km S-SE of Lunag Ri. Depending on map sources, the altitude of Pangbuk Ri varies from 6625m to 6716m. It has a prominence of approx. 800m. Panbug Ri is was first climbed on 11 November 2011 via the South Face (VI, AI5, M5,1400m)by David Gottlieb and Chad Kellogg. Two previous attempts have been recorded in the 1950ies. In 1955, a British expedition reached the lower West Summit (6503m) climbing from Tibet on the SW ridge. In 1959, an attempt by a Japanese party was abruptly stopped after the team was robbed by Khampas. climbed

In November of this year (2011) I Climbed the South face with my friend Chad Kellogg. I had been looking at this peak since my climb of Jobo Ringjang in 2009. Look at pictures at alpineextreme.blogspot.com Peace
