Accurately named peak!
Climbed with Forest Dean. Bit of a bushwhack from heart to island lake, saw fragments of the old trail but it is completely overgrown. took the NE ramp. Absolutely fantastic views. I headed back home, Forest spent the night at Jewel lake to go for Daughter of the Sun the next day!
On Saturday Sept 26th, I included Panoramic Peak in a traverse of all 5 peaks directly surrounding Turquoise Lake. I hiked in Friday the night before and set up base camp at Lace Lake. The next morning I was on the trail by 7:30 am, and went up the ramp to the West ridge of Daughter of the Sun Mountain. I encountered low class 5 on the way up and down, but didn't take enough time to scout out easier options as I know there were. I summited within 2.5 hours, and continued down the ridge to Peak 8644, before hitting Mount Shoemaker, Panoramic Peak and then Point Saint Charles. From Lone Tree Pass, it took maybe an hour to summit Panoramic Peak which was an easy scree scramble to the top, but afforded amazing views. It took less than 12 hours from camp to camp, and I got into some big down climbs that I would've liked to avoid, but the views were absolutely spectacular all around. Will definitely have to be done again!

NE ridge from Island Lake
Camped at Island Lake. Really nice ascent up the ridge to the wonderful little circular lake and on up to the summit. I actually considered the west peak (the one labeled on the map) -which is actually about 250 feet lower - to be the true summit of Panoramic Peak (especially after seeing it from the west). So I headed down the slopes to the west peak overlooking Lake of the Clouds and made plans for more adventures in this beautiful part of the Missions.

With the GMS
A very fine peak in some of the most beautiful country in the state! The views of the Mission Range are truly panoramic.
